الملخص    This study aims at investigating the general characteristic of scholastic environment at secondary schools in Omdurman locality and its relationship to achievement motivation. The researcher applied the descriptive method to achieve the objectives of this study. Simple random technique is applied to select a sample of (149) students out of which (76) males and (73) females. The tools of data collection represented in the following; school environment and achievement motivation scales were designed by the researcher. The data analyzed by statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) applying the following tests; t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient and alpha Kornbakh equation. The most important results of the study are as follows; school environment is statistically above the average (positive). There is a positive significant correlation between school environment and achievement motivation. There is no significant difference in the dimensions of students, administration, and courses according to students gender, whereas, there is a significant difference between them in preparation in favor of female student. The results were discussed in the light characteristics of the study sample, as well as previous studies. Finally, some recommendation and suggestion for further studies were proposed.
